TALK about being committed, and my wife sometimes seems to think I should be, I travelled up to Kinlochleven for the second time in seven days for the opening British Championship round last weekend.

Good write up Rappers ! - I watched the videos and thought the sections were a copy of the current World Championship. - Up this big rock - down this rock up the next big step etc. - maybe thats the trend, but I prefer the traditional events such as the Scottish.

Thanks Mike, we really do appreciate the feed back! Arthur and his brother James spent months ( Arthur especially) drilling holes in rocks, making paths for the spectators etc., I called all the importers for tape and within a few days all the tape had arrived. Arthur is completely knackered now but is bored because he has nothing to do in the evenings now. Well not until January that is?? John Collins was astonished by the organisation of the event - but it is a British Championship. He suggested we should go for a European Championship but to be honest two in the one year would be too much for us to cope with. Graham didn't ride well on the Saturday but he turned it on Sunday. It would have been interesting to see J Dabs in the trial, don't know if he would have beaten Graham though? The SSDT will be interesting this year as will the rest of the BC. I think J Dabs can only make it for two rounds. Anyway thanks for the great report.

The Macs

PS Outlaw Dave, Scotland can do both, Scottish sections and BC. Gary's favourite trial is the SSDT and we just hope his fitness is restored after a leg injury.

I must apologise to Mike for the late publication of this weeks column. He is super-efficient and always gets them to me days in advance. I got it on Friday then, on Saturday disappeared to my folks for the weekend. The column was sat on my home PC while I was 125 miles away on the laptop. Fortunately he noticed and re-sent it. It won't happen again, sir! :)

PS. I'd agree with his comments. Arthur and his team do a sterling job with this event. I'd also like to echo his comments on the officials allowing us photographers to do our job.

Phew i kept checking the site on Sunday night but my regular Sunday read was missing. I were getting worried i were. Mikes collum is always entertaining and thought provoking.

Cant wait to get to Kinlochleven now for the Pre65.

Sounds a great event.

Now us lot south of the boarder have a benchmark to live up to
