Stopping

Featured Replies

I've got a twin disc RTL and TLM and both of them have always had cr4p stopping power from new. Over the years I've tried different brake fluids from DOT 3 to DOT 5.1 and even DOT 5. I'm currently using DOT 5.1 because it seemed to give the best feel at the controls.

Now that the pads are unobtanium I've been making my own. Although they work the stopping efficiency is abysmal. I've been using old car pads so I assume that the material is designed to operate at a much higher temperature than the trials brakes will ever reach.

Anyway, does anyone where I can get some good friction material to make brake pads from?

Many thanks

Try a shop that rebuilds brakes and ask for metalic or semi-metalic material.
