Is anyone able to post any picures of the Triumph Cub that Tony Calvert rode to win the recent P65 Scottish.

feel pretty sure that this would be the bike Tony was riding, he has ridden it for a couple of years at least.

I think though that the bike 'lives' in the lake district with the bike that Carlas Casa's rides?

The Cub Tony was riding was built by John Holmes. Lots of nice features, and a lot of time went in to it. Just one detail of John's handiwork is the cylinder head- it started life as a round one, and John made and welded on every fin, so it has the cooling benefits of a square one. The work is so good you would never be able to tell.. All credit to John, as well as Tony for their success.

I had the pleaseure to ride one of Johns bikes a few years ago. I think it was a 270cc. It was brilliant, could not believe it was a pre-65.

Yes, i had a ride on that too- very nice. Your right, a really decent guy, always helpful. I'm sure he will be really chuffed that Tony's won on it.

This is what i've alway's said. there is just as much pride in building a bike like this, as there is in riding it.

My congratulations go to the both of them. this sort of efort puts the sport back on the front page where it belongs.

Thank you all for the pictures & info, I could not make it to the trial so it is good to see the bikes that won, the Cub appears to have a very special oil tank/air box assembly and maybe the subframe has been lowered by curving down the horizontal top tubes to give a lower seat height ? in contrast the Bantam looks very std but as ever it is the rider that counts.
