Cutting Out & Hard Starting

Hi, i'm having a problem with my Sherco 290 (2004). :D

The last two times I have ridden it, after about an hours riding or less the bike has just died on me, after about 15 minutes of frantic kicking it finally came to life again, with no problems.

After the last trial I took the carb apart and cleaned it out, checked the spark plug and no problem there. I tried to start it again after I had done this and it took forever to start again, I can only think it's electrical or fuel related. Anyone experienced a similar problem?

Finally, when it is running, it seems a little under powered, any thoughts on what to check or change? All advise is apreciated. Cheers

My bike used to die after 20mins every time. The stator was shot. This happened to my (sherco 290 04)bike.Quite expensive to replace  .I believe a rewind is cheaper though,if you scan the forums, there one or two items on this subject.

Your symptoms are slightly diffrent to what i had,but i would take a guess at this being the cause. :D

Thanks for the replies, someone else has suggested the stator as the cause, i'll check the kill switch first though. Any idea on price for a stator replacement anyone?
