June 2, 200719 yr Hey guys, I'm looking at buying a Sherco 290 from 2001, so i'm just looking for peoples opinions and stuff are there anythings to look out for with this particular model? what are they like to ride? June 28, 200719 yr Good bike, still very competive if it is in good condition. Hi from new zealand, i ride the same bike, brilliant, seem to be a way more rugged and reliable than all my riding compatriots GAsGAS's. Watch the water pump seal, i had to do an upgrade on that to the new twin seal version, now faultless. Have had to detune topend by using richer jet, as it was too stroppy for me, and at my age i don't need longer arms. Good choice.
June 30, 200719 yr Had to replace the radiator fan on mine a couple years ago, but otherwise very reliable.
