June 5, 200719 yr Did you see on Top Gear when they put a MKII escort against a modern standard (Diesel) saloon and the modern car wiped the floor. The thing there that is very impressive to me is the driver not the car. The car looks a pig to drive so to drive it like that is awesome.

Bonnet up and everything accessible without double jointed wrists, Jeremy Beadles small hand or a lap-top. Once saw Ari Vartinan (spelling?) at a wet Olivers Mount going full chat up the hill in a works Manta 400, he hit a slight bump, the rear suspension unloaded and the car span 360' and he got it back. Only lifted slightly as the car pirouetted before giving it max lash again as if nothing had happened. Total looney but fantastic to watch, never travelled in a straight line unless he was going up an escalator.

June 18, 200719 yr I know that guy well, an absolute genius in a car, that Escort contains a 300+BHP Warrior engine. Regularly wipes the floor with the majority of single-seaters & recently scalped a very good pilot in a Focus WRC car over 2.2miles. The Lant RT4 he's in at the end of the clip is usaully driven in the same manner as the 'scort........ sideways!!! Ground effects car, tons of downforce, always at the end of the rack!!!! If this guy could just get signed by a WRC manufacturer he'd go very far!!!
June 21, 200719 yr Absolutely fantastic!!!, i love watching the irish rally champs on motors tv!! these guys are gods in my eyes, makes the wrc as dull as ditchwater to watch! . Its ok having yer scoobys and the like but you are going very fast indeed when you are having fun, get it wrong = big accident at least with yer old stuff the speeds are lower(well a bit less!)
