New Guy

Hey All. I'm the newest (New Guy) here and just wanted to say Hi. Looking forward to meeting everyone. My first Trials bike was a 1974 TY 250 and I've been thinking I'd like to find one to rebuild as a retirement project. Well I just recently retired and now have time to referb one. A buddy of mine called me a couple days ago and said he found one. Someone at his church had one taking up room in the garage and was willing to sell it. Long story short, I'm now the owner of it and will be embarking on the rebuild project. It runs great but it's going to need new seals, rear shocks right away. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to where I can find parts??? Specifically, rear shocks, these are dead.

Anyway, looking forward to meeting you all and I'm going to take digital photos along the way on the project, I can't wait to get started.

Stay Safe,

ChiefBDT

Because you called yourself New Guy and didn't say where you lived, I'm going to make a wild guess that you are from the US of A. If so, you should be able to get Falcon brand shockies off the shelf for your A model from Bob Ginder at B&J Racing, Tennessee

Hey Sorry about that, guess that's why I'm the new guy, don't know the protocal yet. I'm retired to my Mtn. home just west of Pikes Peak. I'm at 10K elevation and my 1974 TY 250 is having a hard time warming up. I suspect I'm going to need some advise on carb. jets at some point.

Thanks for the web link on the shocks. If anyone knows of other places to get parts for my "Old Timer" Trials bike please let me know.
