New Member Saying Hello

Hi guys,

A quick hello to you all. I came across the site after buying an aprillia 280 climber (1993) and cant find much about them on the web when i saw you have an aprillia forum ;)

I'm getting into trials after doing road racing for the last 4 years... little rgv250...won a club championship in 2005 and had a nasty blow up in 2006 leaving me with 23 fractures in the right tib and fib...still got a frame on the leg but hoping to have it removed in the next few months...So seeing as the aprillia has the kickstart on the left..BONUS

And from what i can remember when i used to do a bit of off road when a yoof......even at 5mph it can be pretty scary at times ;)

Anyhow if you guys can point me towards gathering technical info or a good parts supplier..or if any of you know of trials clubs in north wales before i get my trials acu licence it would be much appreciated

Cheers

Rob

Hi Bladerunner, brother used to race the RGV's great fun, had 8 seizes in his last season before moving to SS600 along with 4 compound fractures of the wallet, hope the injury clears up nicely asap.

The link below is from the ACU site showing all the clubs in the N.Wales/Cheshire centre, your in a bloody good spot up there with Man 17 and Mac near by.

Good luck, its a great sport

Your Centre

Welcome to TC Bladerunner, good luck with the fractures, been in a similar situation myself from road racing.

In the plus side; your road racing licence will cover you for trials.

Well thanks for the warm welcome and info!! I also received the technical manual in pdf format from another forum member ( thanks rich!) Within hours of joining the forum!! Nice to see the forum is so active and I'm well looking forward to doing my first meeting once I'm back in action which i hope to be sooner rather than later!! I'll find that out on the 31st of this month hopefully

..oh boy i aint going to miss all them up till the early hours doing a top end rebuild the night before a meeting

Then using a new front and two new rears in a National race weekend to end up coming 25th... or travelling all the way to the Isle of Man (or Bishops Court or Brands Hatch etc etc,) to get taken off in the first practice session and travel home with a pile of scrap in the back of the van without even racing! ;)

Trials is just the most amazing form of motorsport. I should have done it 20 years ago and paid off my mortguage instead of going road racing.
