i have a 05 290 its a pig to start cold seams mixture is week if i take plug out pour a small amount of petrol in it fires plugs not getting wet theres loads of compression and good spark

Fit a bigger Pilot Jet - suggest a #36

clean carb and air filter thoroughly, this doesnt cost anything

change spark plug every couple of moths.

My Sherco was always a good starter, completely strip carb jets out etc and reset float height.

Check that the long brass tube that sticks out of carb ,when float bowl is removed is cleared out. That`s the choke circuit, has a small o-ring on the end that gets cut aswell. Chamfer the float bowl where the o-ring fits in. Always left sharp by Mr Dellorto, causes many problems !!!!
