Hi ,well here i am ,new to all this .i have just brought a yamaha ty 250 can any one tell mewhere to find the chassis number?.and any other tips regarding this bike would be helpfull,eg the best place for parts etc?

Twinshock or mono? On a mono its stamped on the right hand side of the frame where the forks attach.

You'd probably be better asking this in the Yamaha section of this forum though.

HI again just an update yes it is a 91/92? mono .i have looked on both sides of the frame and cannot see any numbers is it possable it was never stamped?,How obovious are these supposed to be the frame had a coat of white hamirate paint which i will respray next winter.any awners greatfully recieved

On a 20 yr old bike it could easily have been covered when retouched. They would all have been stamped out of the factory.

It should be here running vertically;

The same number should appear on the engine casing on that side too.
