March 4, 200818 yr Hi,my mate has just cracked one side of the bottom yoke on an '07 SY250,on removal of said item,there is a clear casting fault,anyone else heard of this problem?Cheers.Pat
March 4, 200818 yr Author Munch,trust me,there is 2 distinct grain patterns,one is like a sand cast grain,the other more linear grain.also i forgot to say,there is no physical damage on either face of the yoke?you any ideas?
March 5, 200818 yr There was a posting a while back about this subject, including a photo of an SY with a broken yoke actually in a trial. I will have a look for the post when I have time.

March 6, 200818 yr The yoke is the cast/machined blocks of metal through which the front fork tubes are located. The top and bottom yoke are joined together through the frame headstock and pivot in bearings. If the pinch bolts are over tightened or the bike has a major impact they can fail. Apparently on a Scorpa this has happened causing the front forks to snap off completely.
