I am not any where near up to speed in the tech department with trials.... <_<

I have a 2006 2.9 and noticed that the end box has a weld line through the middle as if it had been spilit in half for some reason. Seeing other 2.9s, I realised this was only on mine. The exhaust note is very crackley, but the bike runs perfectly.

Can anyone shed any light on if this is a mod and what it is for?
