Honda Tlr Brake Shoes

Featured Replies

ok have tried new original shoes and ebc shoes and brakes are still crap on my 200 are newfren grooved shoes any good? has the "I" cams everything else is as it should the back brake is pretty good to be honest as i have fitted a longer arm on the cam. the front is the larger reflex type which uses the larger 110mm brake. to have the shoes re=lined larger and machined back is over

come on someone must have an opinion! will try the 2k hardener trick on the honda shoes (how does it work)

Get a 250 front hub they work a lot better.

Forget the back brake, use the engine braking!

Make sure you use a genuine Honda front brake cable, I tried different shoes and found Honda shoes best, but the Honda cable will make the biggest improvement as they are thicker and don't stretch as much as pattern cables.

hey,

idd only use honda brake cable there are the best

sure the hub is not used out?

i have stock honda brake and it works great

the 250's brake is better than a 200's but a 200's should work to

cheers guys the reflex brake is the same diameter and uses the same shoes as the 250 where on earth can i get a new honda cable? david silver spares says there discontinued! who has em?

I use a 1990 XR100 brake cable on a Reflex. It is a little shorter and gives a better feel.

When I was younger I had a gollner 200 mono and a fantic 200 and never had a problem with my brakes, I can only put this down to regular maintainance I think the shoes that were used was ebc. This will sound like a bit of a ball ache but the day before a trial I would remove both wheels clean out the hubs and wire brush shoes reasemble and adjust up but this would give almost as good as a disks of the time. :D

Gordon Farley (01483 538485) should be able to help with a genuine Honda cable they keep a good range of spares for TLR's
