April 11, 200917 yr The original points would have been on the right side but the Rex Caunt ignition replaces them and is on the clutch side, like a PVL so it's unaffected by the right side casing being chopped back.
April 11, 200917 yr Author Thanks Woody.Very practical mod, but not very pretty. How much smaller is a PVL system than the standard Lucas generator? I've seen some B40's with a much slimmer cover on the left than my one. This would be quite a athsetically pleasing mod. The PVL goes in place of the generator and doesnt need a battery ? April 14, 200917 yr Hi Guy'. I would say that it is a nice piece of 5 or 6 mm dural plate and a crafty pruning of the alloy casting .Note that the clutch arm has be extended, and i would think that there was spacers or modified shafts in some way too. Nice job though and very inventive like the man was. he will be missed. Regard's Charlie.
