Hey lads i have just shorted out the CDI on my 1990 TY-250 :lol: , I let the N wire touch the exhaust and band pop no more spark blew my CDI, So long story short i need (a) a new CDI unit OR (:lol: a working used one, now for the question, where do i get one? i am finding it very hard, one price i got was 168.00EUR + VAT

any ideas are welcome lads

Ps. the bike ran sweet after the new big ends until it ran out of spark

Gday, Are you sure you have damaged the CDI? they are pretty robust... check the stator first and then all your wiring. You may be pleasantly surprised to find an easy fix.

i'm afraid so! I tried a mates cdi got my spark back tried his coil started 1st kick so i'm sure its the cdi i've broke, just opened the fried one and boy is it fried destroyed i have fixed 1 before but this is too far gone

There is some aftermarket company on ebay that specilizes in all sorts of CDI units for popular makes. Not sure if it will help, but worth a look.
