After a 15 year absence I have decided to dust off my TY175 and try some vintage events. At 64 I hope I can still geterdone! I also have a 82 WhiteHawk TY80 conversion that I brought back to the states after a tour in the UK with the USAF. I was fortunate to be able to purchase it as a Kit and put it together one I got home. The WhiteHawk has a 20X2.75 frt tyre and is in need of replacement, but I have been unable to locate one. If anyone knows of a source I would appricate it.

Yes it was the standard frt tyre on the WhiteHawk TY80. I got the rim and spokes with the kit and laced it up to the stock TY80 frt hub. This is realy a great bike for the kids. My son compted on the stock TY, and out grew it so when I found the WhiteHawks it was perfect upgrade. My grand daughter is now riding it. It took me srveral visits with Mr. Whitlock to convence him to sell me a kit, at the time he was doing all of the conversions and selling a complete bike. But since I was bring it to the states he relented. Its most likely the only one in the US.

I am not sure at all about a 20 inch front. If it will not accept a 21, then the best alternative I can think of would be going back to a 19 inch front like the gasgas cadet. The V-rubber 19 tire is good. What brand tire is on it?

I seem to recall that the Cota 123 had a 20" front wheel so I'm not surprised that the Whitehawk 80 also had 20". I'm not saying anyone still makes a 20"tyre though. Everyone I know with a Cota 123 fits a 21"rim so they can get tyres for them.

Looks like I am going to have to lace up a 21 or 19 to get tyres for it. I think a 19 would be a better choice.

A friend suggested the possibility of using a 20"x2.50 Trials Unicycle tire on these. May well work, as they should be tough enough!

The only person I know thas a trials uni may be Pat Smage. No idea where he get stuff for it, but a search around for trials bike specilists may well turn up something.

There is a bike thread in the forums that may name a few shops in the UK as well. :o
