Scorpa Tys 125 F , Steering Lock & Choke Advice !

Featured Replies

Hi I have just bought a Scorpa TYS 125 F which has just been used by the previous owner for "pottering" about , I have stripped the lights off it to day and removed the speedo and bracket and steering lock etc to start riding trials.

Has anyone else done this and did you remove the steering lock bracket which is welded to the steering head ? and where do you mount the choke lever if you re move the speedo bracket ?

any advice or tips would be appreciated thanks Dave

My steering lock had been removed by the previous owner and I modified the choke with a shorter cable. Look at Birkett Motosport website for further mod's.

Has the bracket been removed from the head stock ? and where is the new choke mounted cheers

I no longer have the bike but I,m sure the brackets were removed and the choke cable was shortened back to near the carb.

Spoke to Nigel Birket today and he said to mount the choke beside carb, and remove horrible steering bracket so all sorted now , thanks again for your help !

What about the cable up to the bars, what did he say to do with it ?? Mine is still on the bracket up there ??

I have made a "joggled " bracket off the rear coil mounting bolt and re routed the choke cable from the front of the bike round and under the carb , seems to work fine , and gets rid of that horrible big bracket at the front of the bike .
