Diddy Work Bench 2

Featured Replies

Hello again.

When I mentioned diddy work bench, I meant something just to support the bike, you know box sorta thing.

I was just wondering what a safe height would be as I've never seen one in the real world.

Hello B40RT

Yes I want to make just a stong boxsorta thing with the right height as I've got to try and sort me spokes+ change the fork oil for this weekend.

Simple and strong, just for now. I'll buy a one of metal ones later.

Cheers

Kitchen Chair

Beer Crates from the pub, they only have to pay to get rid of most of them

Balance it on the sump on a wall if you have one

As for making something, needs to be just over a foot high. Possibly more for fork work!

If you plan on buying one in the future, get a lift stand. So much easier, got mine for

I'll definately get me suckers on one of those contraptions.

Thanks for your help.

If you want to make a cheap bike stand get hold of an old office swivel chair, ones with the hydraulic ram are OK, or just the standard one, unbolt the seat and chop off the back rest, stick a bit of wood on top. Some do require a little messing about with but hey its free.

Hello Andy.T

Thats a good idea. I just finnished making one though. It looks and feels solid. Ill try and hunk the bike on it tomorrow. Me spoke keys not arrived though so no mud for me this weekend.

Hope you manage to get out and play.

Cheers for popping that info on here though.

You know you can use a small adjustable spanner to tighten the nipples or even a small pair of mole grips if they are very tight. The spoke spanners are fine to use but you dont have to. Yes I'm out to play this sunday, expecting a lot of mud. Good luck with the wheel anyway.
