Is it possible to convert over to electronic ignition on the TY175, never liked CB points.

There is also something called Atom ignition doing the rounds which replaces points and condensor. It's an Australian product and I have no idea who imports it but apparantly it can be used on any 2-stroke engine.

Yes.............very easy conversion. Craig Mawlam's Majesty Yam web site, can be found in the links section. If cost is a factor, then I think ignition from a DT125 trail bike will fit.............something you can probably find at a breakers!

Any idea of the year that fits? DT should have lighting coils similar to TY I assume?

I believe there is a similar unit listed in B&J Racing's website for those of us in the States
