March 31, 201016 yr Im going to look at a 2007 sherco 290. only ever had a gasgas xtx270. Is there any comon faults i should look for on the above model. Also what are peoples opinion on the above bike??? Any info would be much appreciated
March 31, 201016 yr First thing I would look at are the dog bone bearings and swing arm bearings . If they have not been maintained with grease they will be loose. Regards Phil
April 1, 201016 yr Start it & listen for main bearings as the only real fault. Generally they're only as good as their previous owner(s)
April 1, 201016 yr Author A few people told to check the rear shock has been upgraded. were they on about the older bikes as i cant find anyone who have mentioned this on here????
April 2, 201016 yr The 06 was the bike with the dodgy shock, pretty sure they were fixed for 07 They're probably meaning that if you find one with a trp or ohlins that they are significantly better & worth the money
