Cub Tyre Choice

Hi, thanks for help so far, more silly questions now!!

Which tyre is ok for a wobbler on a cub? Is it worth the extra cash for an IRC or Michelin X11 or will a Pirrelli MT43 be ok, I need all the help I can get grip wise!! Is the width at the tread all the same as clearance is abit tight.

Im on a very hard MT13 at the moment, terrain is usually woods mud etc.

Rgds

An IRC would be the first choice for grip then Michlen, the MT43 works well in mud ,soft ground & snow because of its fairly stiff oddly shaped blocks they clear well. If you are intending to ride rocks then give the MT43's a miss the side walls/blocks are too hard and the rear will bounce all over the place! P.S. www.rhencullen.co.uk have got some MT43's for about

If you've ever been stuck in the bottom of a slimey bomb hole with the back wheel spinning you will soon realise why you need the best tyres you can afford. Some clubs don't allow tubeless either.

MT43s are rock hard.

Tyre pressures are also vital if you are going to get up those slippery slopes.

6lb in the front and 4 in the rear argueably seems the norm although a pound or so more on rocky going is also a good idea. Get a low pressure tyre gauge for consistency - don't guess!

How often do you see a wobbler stationery with a rock hard back tyre! :)
