April 22, 201016 yr My old man is finally going to ditch the horrible standard ignition system on his C15S. What options do we have on a electronic version? I think we would like to go down the crankshaft mounted route to avoid the backlash in the distributor system. Do any of them have lighting coils fitted as standard/option. Thanks
April 22, 201016 yr Dont know about the others but i know the PVL system, which i have used and was very very pleased with, doesnt have lighting coils or the option of them to be fitted. I do know of a couple of guys who have fitted the PVL and are extremely happy with it's performance who then fitted a sealed battery for the lights as they very rarely used them if thats any help. Trouble is the better competition oriented systems dont have the provision for lights as competition bikes generally dont have them. Do you really need lighting? if not why compromise on performance?
April 23, 201016 yr Author Lights would be a prefered option as the bike is the S model in enduro trim and is standard as delivered from the factory. The bike is also mainly used for green lane and other pottering not out and out competition.
