The plating on the inside of the front hub is peeling off. Can this be stripped and replated (chrome or ?). Are steel or cast iron liners available that I could purchase and install myself? I can machine out the hub to fit the liner. Thanks.

    Standard problem on those hubs. Yes most get sleeved in steel or cast iron.

    If you are doing it yourself the thing to watch out for is that there is not much thickness available in the hub.

    It looks like Bultaco.com can reline the hub with a steel liner. I have the same issue with the rear hub on my 183 but haven't decided to get the job done yet.
