1.6 Petrol Clio

Featured Replies

Ive currently got a 1.6 Clio (110bhp) does any one else use a simalure car for towing or carrying there trials bike?

just wondering how it copes with MPG and if they still manage to pull with such weight on the a***?

I have a saxo vtr which pulls my bike alright. Dont know about MPG but really your its only going to be the difference in one/two people in the back seat in terms of effecting mpg

I use a 1.2L 67(ish)bhp car and it pulls it no problem. Fuel economy doesn't seem to be affected enough to notice. Trials bikes weigh nothing really.

He he,

I tow a bloody great big 6x4 trailer built with a car axel behind my little 1.4 Corsa, sometimes with two bikes & three people!

I always measure my fuel consumption and I thought it would plummet, but no, it was about the same, even on really hilly & twisty roads.

Must be because with all that weight the choice of speed is slow or stopped.

I just set off earlier and let all the riders in their vans passed.
