January 16, 200521 yr hey, my sherco 02 200cc just wont start when it is hot, itl start perfectly when it's cold, but once it's started it takes some what 10 kicks and sometimes starts. its just had the coil, and the whines rewound, and compression seal, and piston rings befor i bought it so i should think compression is ok. the spark seems strong enough aswell. when i took the spark plug out it was oilly, is it worth gettin a new plug in it, also what plug should i get. could it be to do with the carb settings? one last question, on the air box, does it suppose to have a cover on it, and mine is just a filter, with a allen key to hold it in place. thanks colly
January 16, 200521 yr It's ALWAYS a good idea to try a fresh plug. Gap it at .5mm NGK BP5ES Easy cold starting+wet plug+hard hot starting=probably too rich jetting
January 16, 200521 yr I noticed a blocked pilot jet makes them hard to start, good carb cleaning and blow any dirt from overflow/ breather vent tubes. Test for clogged pilot by trying hot start with some choke, if it starts easier with some choke clean pilot jet.
