so the left hand casing had 2 holes in it i was just gonna quick steel them and paint them but thought f**k it and did this to it

Yep should keep the points & flywheel from overheating

Powdercoat purple and add some mesh it will work a treat, why don't you do clutch case too! You could call it a Whitby conversion. If TT5TH sees this thread he will want his doing too.
