Mono Rear Tire Problem

Featured Replies

Hello

The previous tire on my Ty 250 mono had a buckle in it, and yesterday i put a new tire on to find it still has a buckle. it is at the rim lock where the tire isn't seated properly.

Does anyone know how to sort this?

Cheers Lewis

Is the rim straight?

Can be a bit tricky getting it seated properly over the rim lock, just keep trying till you get it right. I put a nut right on the end of the rim lock to stop it vanishing back inside the rim and then push it as far in as the nut allows to get the edges of the tyre right down either side of it.

Are you trying to fit a tubeless tyre to a tubed rim?

If that is the case you will get the same symptoms as you describe.

If not use water to lube the bead and inflate to 50-60 psi to push out.

I'm not having a dig here honest but why do people keep trying to fit tubless tyres on tubed rims?

I really dont understand especially as the problems have been discussed at length on here. Why not just fit a tubed tyre to a tubed rim and a tubeless tyre to a tubeless rim ?

Honestly not having a dig at you i just dont get it :wall:
