February 8, 201115 yr bike is 2010 290 sherco i was fiddling with my suspension last week and when i came to do the front i wanted to adjust the spring setting, so i got a 6mm allen key out and tried adjusting the screw on the top of the left fork by trying to screw it in. it wouldnt go in and ended up rounding it off as it only aluminium. first question is why wouldn't it adjust? and second is where can i get a replacement part.
February 9, 201115 yr Did you loosen the top fork yoke bolts first? If you did not loosen the clamp bolts it might not turn, just thinking out loud without seeing it.
February 9, 201115 yr Chris at Splatshop should be able to sort you out http://www.splatshop.co.uk/sherco-06-fork-plug-left.html
February 9, 201115 yr Did you loosen the top fork yoke bolts first? You shouldn't need to do this if you are just adjusting it ... It must have seized some how ...They usually turn with just a thumb and finger.... Chris will sort you out. Just remember to put the bike on a centre and stand loosen the top fork yoke (two allen/hex) bolts before you loosen that Hex nut on the top of the tube. Oh and the handle bars have to come off too ... Might be best to remove it a take a look before you order the part. Best of balance. Neo
