Can anyone please tell me whether the bearings come out with a little gentle persuasion or do you need a special tool to remove them? dont like to force it too much just yet. They are rusty and well past it. Hopefully it will cure the "sound of a pogo stick"

If they are anything like the bones on a Gas Gas you could push them out with the new ones gently or you could use a socket the same size as the bearing case, used both methods before although they would need to be free if your using the new case to push in case you deform it

Best to fill the bearings with good quality grease before rebuilding too

Hot air gun to heat up the alloy and plenty of WD40. Press out with suitable size socket(s) in a vice worked for me on my gasser

press them out in the vice,then reverse the procedure.

Be as gentle as you possibly can, they distort supprisingly easily.

while i have the shock off - is there aything i should do with it apart from clean it up - i guess they are maintenance free and if it aint broke, dont fix it?
