July 22, 201115 yr Just replaced the rear fender on my 2003 290. Everyone I have seen has cracked in pretty much the same place, where it bolts through. is there some other way of fastening it ., so that the bolts (or whatever) break instead of the mudguard? Edited July 22, 201115 yr by Drake
July 22, 201115 yr You can use plastic tie wraps in place of the bolts. Some people even use plastic rivets but I have not tried that. The plastic rivets may be available for automobile interiors.
July 22, 201115 yr Plastic number plate bolts work well, will pull out the thread or head comes off. Cheaper than a mudguard.
July 25, 201115 yr Go the cable tie route, I always have a couple of pairs tucked away in the crossbar pad Ditching the screws was 1 of the first things the importer told me to do when I bought my first Sherco
