Hi,

The standard gearing on a TY80 is 12 tooth front and 41 tooth rear that is what I put on the one I have rebuilt.

Would you say that its a slow controlled gearing? as its for my sister and she will only be doing beginer sections at our local club which tend to stay on the flat with the ocasional small hill with tight corners

You might be better getting a smaller gearbox sprocket as it does seem a bit fast in 1st gear !!
