hey guys

can any one say what size socket fits the nut (left hand thread) on the final drive to change the front sprocket ?

36mm across flats, bigger than anything i have, i use hammer and chisel method :blush:

:unsure: can't you borrow a socket or a spanner...? OSSAs need tlc... ;)

Hi Bisby I will do what you suggest if nothing else helps, but I wanted to buy or borrow a socket that fits as Stecks suggested I now know its a 3/4 drive socket as 1/2 only go up to 32 mm.

There are plenty of 1/2" drive 36AF sockets available. Try ebay, I would use an impact type with a full hex.

I just Googled 36mm socket and this lot popped up

Some look as though they are made of mild cheese, but perhaps one of the impact sockets might last long enough to get the sprocket off, and with a bit of luck, back on again. Some of them are driven by 1/2" drives, but I think I'd go for a bigger drive than that...

And on the up side, if you get one, we can all borrow it... ;)

I must be getting very old as I´v found a Socket in the Trials-Tool-Box.

Suddenly rememberd seeing one there (things like taht are VERY strange and sometimes a bit worrying) !
