July 10, 201214 yr hi all ive just bought a plastic tank its been melted under the tank where the exhaust is its not meltet throw. could i fill it with filler? and can i spray the tank?
July 11, 201214 yr Yeah done this before just make sure you use plastic primer first and let each coat dry before the next as depending on the plastic it may soften quite badly. Good luck bud
July 11, 201214 yr Author ok cheers ill clean it up first see what it comes up like. ive got a New plastic tank but want this one of me other bult seen a nice fibre glass one but at 400 euros it will have to wait till i win the lotto. the New one dosant sit proper on the tail end theres a bobel of plastic under the tail its hiting the bolt on the air box but dont want to file it down incase it dose any damage anybody else had this problem???
July 15, 201214 yr hello mate, might be worth sealing the inside of the tank to prevent the common problem of the fuel leaching out and bubbling the paint. there is one called tank creme that works on rusty steel tanks, might be ok for plastic tanks. cheers, tom,
