August 19, 201214 yr hi all, has anyone any ideas on replacing the standard villiers clutch on my pre65 scramble bike,[i know not trials] .i would like to replace it with a jap one,ie conbination of the two, that will still fit inside standard castings. any views greatly appreciated.
August 20, 201214 yr Author Thanks for your interest Hewson, the problem with the original clutch is that i removed the case hardening from the basket and now the plates are creating quite deep grooves, which makes the clutch drag.

August 22, 201214 yr Just give simon Bateman a call at Nametab. Great bloke and his clutch baskets never give a problem and believe me they are very hard. Tried drilling one once gave up!
September 5, 201213 yr Author Problem now resolved, i took old trials fanatic's advice and bought one from nametab.Lovely looking thing it is.Thanks for imput every one.
