September 14, 201213 yr A couple of minutes about her at 19 minutes in http://www.bbc.co.uk..._Fun_and_Games/ I remember her riding Bultacos in the Scottish in the 60s. If I recall correctly she had a shop, the eponymous Sportman's Emporium, selling trials bikes.
July 29, 201313 yr Hi, just seen this posting, I used to see Renee Bennett and her husband Howard Powell in the late 1960s, around Plaistow (east London), where they had there motorcycle shop. I'm not sure whether it is still going, but Howard moved the shop to East Ham. Renee was a fair rider, and was usually seen on a Greeves at that time, Howard rode either a Greeves Anglian, or a Bultaco. She was the daughter of a famous local car spares dealer, and gym owner, Wag Bennett. She was very much into keeping fit, and was very shapely.
August 22, 20224 yr Hi, just wanted to update the thread. Renee Bennett is still going strong and regularly visits her shop in East Ham (Howard Powell Motorcycles). Howard unfortunately passed in ‘03. We still have most of Renee’s trials bikes in our garage. As her granddaughter, it is fantastic to see that she is well-known in the trials world.
