October 6, 201213 yr Hi all. I really want to get involved in trials. I come from several years of racing cross country ATV's and arenacross. Got burned out, Switched to woods riding a KTM 300exc, and loved that, but got out due to the purchase of a new home. Recently got into dual sport riding on my Honda XR650l. I recently shed some weight that needed gone, and am trying to get back into shape. Technical riding always kept weight off before, and I think trials is my answer. My questions begin with I am 6'2" and dropped from 292lb to 250lb, and plan to lose more. Will my current size/ weight cause me any issues with a trials bike? Is there certain ones that are better for bigger guys like me? I hope to get to around 225lb in the near future. I look forward to hearing from all of you on my journey into trials. Thanks in advance! Edited October 6, 201213 yr by rider11x
October 6, 201213 yr Nope, lots of guys your size and bigger ride just fine,it's all about technique. If you ride properly the bike doesn't care how big you are so much. Trials Inc. event in Little Hocking,Oh next weekend, come watch,it's just west of Pa. If you are near pittsburg then message BPutt here on Trials central,he can hook you up with a bike! And his son can show you how to ride!
October 6, 201213 yr Author Thanks! I believe I may have just emailed him today. I suppose there are bike specific posts to help me decide on a bike?
