Could anyone tell me the paint colour / code for a 1972 Sherpa (red) tank please? Recently bought bike and it seriously needs repainting - been done previously with a yard brush!!!

Very much personal choice to be honest but a good match to the original colour is the old Ford Sunset Red that they used on Escorts in the early 70s (I'm assuming you're in the UK...)

Later reds such as Rosso or Radiant look better for me as they are deeper red with less of an orange tint.

That's great thanks Woody - pleased I had a successful response from my first post on Trials Cemtral. Just want a colour that is near really so I will take up your advice tomorrow and get the thing painted nicely before it goes back on the gritstone rocks!?!...
