March 11, 201313 yr hi my beta evo 300 4t is spitting and banging in the rear exaust box i have dried out the cdi unit checked the inlet rubber and found that it had come of so put this back on but the engine is still spitting and back fireing can any one out there help many thanks john
March 11, 201313 yr Hi Check the CDI block connector , look for corrosion evidence on any of the connections (green colour) If its not that , try a new spark plug .
March 11, 201313 yr The main problem that causes this is the CDI unit, You need to check the terminals for any green colour what so ever. On our Beta Evo 4t's we have moved the CDI further up near to the kickstart, To stop water getting into it as easy. Also is worth taping it around the connecter. Failing that another problem can be a tiny bit of water in the carb, you need to undo the drain bolt slightly at the bottom of the carb, It is a bit funny to get to with the exhaust being in the way, But give it a go, Might just be the problem.
