March 19, 201313 yr hello theres a small crack in the middel section of my exhaust and is leaking 2 stroke oil when its running with out taking it to be welded is there anything i can use to stop it?
March 19, 201313 yr welding or brazing the leak area is the best solution. As a workaround depending where the leak area is you might put glas fiber cloth underneath the area and wrap wire around. (this "solution" will not last long ...)
March 19, 201313 yr If it is just a crack you can actually seal it with solder and it will last for a while assuming you don't need the solder to provide any structural strength. It doesn't get hot enough to melt the solder.
March 20, 201313 yr Even some silicone sealer (from halfords - not the bathroom type) will seal a small hole.
April 3, 201313 yr Author hi guys thanks for your info i think ill try some silicon first then if that dosant work ill get it weled im hoping a dont have to take the exhaust off
April 3, 201313 yr If you do have to get it welded it would be best if you do remove from the bike as "electronic" ignition is very easy to damage when any form of electric welding is done. Then of course there's the collateral damage to the bike but it's up to you at the end of the day.
April 3, 201313 yr Author hi sorry i mean i would only leave the exhaust on if i use silcon. i would take it off if i get it welded thanks
