I'm from East Yorkshire, not got a bike yet but looking to spend about £1000 - any suggestions? Complete beginner but I do have a road bike! (650cc)

Hi bud, welcome along. I was the same as you a couple of years ago and I wish I'd saved up more money for my bike. I had paid a grand for mine too and ended spending nearly the same again just to keep it in useable condition. So my advice would be to spend more cash bud.

you cant go wrong with a beta rev3 or a montesa 315

hi what year you need to check for excessive play in the rear suspension leaking forks and any rumbling noises from the engine if they tell you its never been trialed id be more worried what have they been doing with it ?

It's a 2004, but I'm wondering if I should be starting out on a 125cc?
