April 23, 201313 yr Any thoughts on what's the Best heat resistant paint to use for painting my twin shocks engine? Also should I be using a primer? Thanks on advance
April 23, 201313 yr recently used PJ1 and was very pleased with the results no primer needed BUT make sure that you follow what is said on the tin .
April 24, 201313 yr I've painted engines successfully multiple times in 40+ years of trials and never used a heat resistant paint. Quite simply, the engine does not get hot enough to require high temp paint. I typically use a good rattle can brand like Rustoleum in medium gloss black (not satin or gloss) for excellent results. Save the heat resistant paint for the exhaust pipe and muffler.
