Cooling Fan Temp Kick On?

Featured Replies

At what temperature or how long idleing is the normal for the fan to kick on, on a 12 290? I removed the map switch tonight, and had to disconnect the grounds at the top of the frame. I connected everything back and just wanted to make sure everything was still working, but the fan did not kick on. I only ran it about 5 minutes, sitting on a stand, it was pretty late and i didnt want the neighbors complaining, but the fan didnt kick on. Maybe just not hot enough? i did put 12v to the fan and it ran fine.

Has to be hot, 5 min idle may not do it! Somewhere around 185-195F(90-95C) I think, and that is coolant temp.
