hi help with bultaco Sherpa 350t 151 model

can any one tell me how many cc of oil for gear box and what oil is best

how many cc of oil primary drive and what oil is best

and also how much oil for fork legs and whats best

sorry for questions its my first bultaco I was a ty man before

600cc for the gearbox, 300cc for the clutch and between 150 to 180cc for each fork leg.

To the quality: good gearbox oil SAE around 75 - 95 works fine,

for the clutch SAE 30 or SAE 5 - 10, here ATF work's very good Elf HTX even better.

Forks should be SAE 10, I personal use SAE 7,5 being a light rider.

excuse my ignorance but are you saying

atf transmission oil will be ok for the clutch 300cc

and sae 5-10 for gear box ?

would 10w 30 or 10w 40 be ok for gear box 600cc

600cc of good quality gear oil in the gearbox, sae 75 - 95.

You can use10 / 40 if that's all you have.

300cc atf in the primary / clutch

Fur the clutch and primary drive:

There can be used SAE 10 - 5 (older recommandations) from the mid seventies or SAE 30 (newer recommandations) from the beginning 80's,

in pesonal experience ATF works too very good. (As thinner the oil as easier the clutch will slip).

For the gear box where the transmission is situated SAE 75 - 95 works fine, Castrol EPX does the Job really well you can use either SAE 80 - 90 or even SAE 85 - 140

does it matter if atf is dextron 11 or dextron 111 as when I had ty 175 all the guys said use dex 111

hi both are ok think most use dextron 11 not 100% sure with out checking but i think inmotion sell the 11 i wouldnt worry about witch 1 eigther.

Do you mean this castrol transmax axle??

Yep, but I have figured out with experience and the years it takes a long time until the oil is warmed up and under cold weather conditions it is really thick which can make shifting harder.

I now have changed to ELF HTX 740 to all my bikes, from  SWM TL NW, Montesa 242, Panda TC 220, Beta TR 34, Yamaha TY and the Bultaco Sherpa to use just that oil to clutch and  gearbox.

OK thank you just not sure what oil to put in the gearbox on my sherpa

I use HTX740 oil in both gearbox and clutch. I am confident it is very good. Thicker oil does not improve the gearbox or clutch life

The volumes needed are a bit exaggerated concerning the 0,6/0,3 rule. I would say: As long a internals are wet it will lubricate
