I am planning to do the Arbuthnot trial in sept on it and there is a far bit of road work. So today I fitted my speedo and went out for a blast. I am getting about 25 MPH on the current gearing. I have a 66 tooth rear sprocket fitted at the moment. But have a 60 tooth one in the garage. Would fitting the 60 tooth make that much difference or do I need a even smaller one?. I wouldn't mind about a 40 MPH top speed. I do understand that I will be raising the gearing up all through the range but I am not to worried about the sections in the trial.
