September 17, 201312 yr hi ive got an old montadero i think its a 68 or 69 i took apart to clean after it had been sitting for 30 years problem im having is that now it wont shift i was wondering if their is a trick to adjusting the shift rod?and which direction does the cover plate over the selector face go?any info would be awsome
September 17, 201312 yr Hi Rexhaven. The El Montadero is the same as an El Bandito of the same era. See if you can find a manual on line for a four speed motor as I think they are a four speed San Antonio engine. I think Hugh Weaver in the US would have a manual on line to have a look at.
