Can Anyone Id This Cylinder?

Featured Replies

Can anyone ID this (Villiers) cylinder that came in the box of bits with my Cheetah. There are a few pictures of the same cylinder on this link.

There's a 5/16" thick phenolic spacer below the cylinder and it has a chrome bore.

yes, head not matching barrel

Parkinson barrel (cast-in manifold) and DMW head (close-pitch fins)?

The head is a Parkinson

I'm not sure about the barrel, it's not a Greeves or Marcelle so could well be a Parkinson also.

Why do you think the head and barrel are mis-matched??

I think the Vale-Onslow conversion had round finning.

Mick's and farmer's both have 7 fins. (so it's probably a Parkinson)

What is the story of the alloy clutch cover on the water cooled bike looks very trick!

  • Author

Good or NOS early water-cooled Honda clutch/waterpump side covers are as rare as hens teeth. A friend made one up using a pressed out alloy dish with the flat flange laser cut from alloy plate then welded it all together. In addition he fitted a new (and freely available) water pump seal. That photo was taken at the cover's first outing and everything worked just fine.
