December 1, 201312 yr Write I done a trial today on a 2010 250 for the first time since I changed from my rev 3. I noticed the engine is quite rumbley especially when idling. Is this normal for a sherco. I know the history of the bike and it's had an easy life so far you would think everything should be in good condition still. I checked if the was any play in the flywheel and there is nothing so main bearings should be ok. Has anyone got any ideas what the noise could be. My rev3 sounded sweat with no engine rumble at all. Cheers.
December 1, 201312 yr should have kept the rev3 Yeah very helpfull, go to the Montesa forum and talk about 2 stroke oil to the 4rt owners (no offence). Sherco gearboxes are a bit noisey. The later Sherco's have the sealed main bearings so are a bit more hard wearing but they can still go bad. They can still rumble when they are on the way out even though there is no play yet. Don't give up on the Sherco, Compare the noise to some others at your next trial. The Sherco will out ride the Rev 3 hands down and are about the same if not more reliable.
December 2, 201312 yr I have a rumble in my pants sometimes. Most times ok, but sometimes leaves zerorev tracks. May be 3 or 4! C'mon man, If you canny tell if abnormal or not, how the hell can we over the internet? All motors make noise. Try checking your mounting bolts. Good start!
