Honda Tl

Featured Replies

Hello , Hope you TL 125 experts can help, I have a TL 125 engine stamped TL 125 SE 101140, Its also stamped 220 at the rear of the barrel and HM 1B on the front of the barrel. Under the head its stamped 383 E 4. And by the filter nut its stamped 438. It has a spacer casing and a wide flywheel, and a 5mm approx thick spacer to increase the stroke, I believe its a Honda modified engine and I hope to swop it for a tatty 1979 Bultaco the Bultaco owner is keen on the deal but Im not sure if my engine is genuine i dont want to be accused of selling/swopping something its not. Many Thanks John

Yes, probably a modified engine...

383 for the head, it's from an XL 125 (big valve)

With the spacer under the barrel it's probably got an xl185/xr200 crank fitted which would boost it to 145cc on the standard 124cc cylinder.

As dalfetta says, that's a head code from the cb/XL models 76-78.

Where's the 220 mark? A picture would help.
