February 19, 201412 yr i took my rear wheel off today to have a look at the bearings but to get at them there is a bush in front of them, how do i get the bush off, i haven't tried anything yet because i don't want to force anything.
February 19, 201412 yr Hi there, the bush / spacer should pull out but normally a couple of flat blade screwdrivers to either side and it should lever out ! Done thus many times and once out make sure you clean them and apply a little grease before refitting.
February 19, 201412 yr Or use a drift/long rod and drift them out from the opposite side (put rod through centre of hub, catch lip of top hat spacer and drift out).
February 19, 201412 yr Author i had a struggle getting the spindle out, i don't think it as seen grease for a while so i'v greased it ready to go back in and now i know how to get the bush out i will clean and grease the bearings and grease the bush before it goes back in, thanks for the help.
February 19, 201412 yr big vice grips end on gently wiggle it out or put a shaft through from other side and tap against vice grips
