What's the deal with the Schreider valve forks nuts?

Guess it allows you to add some preload with air?

Anyone think they are better than the standard vented tops? Where they just a fad? I notice vesty has them on his xlite.

Thought they were only to vent excess pressure ?

My Suzuki 1100 has valves to pressurise the front forks and I understand the new Honda MX bikes have air (spring less forks)

Removing the sprigs, fitting Schrader valves in the caps, and using air springing was an effective modification on Honda TL 125s as the standard front end was pretty crap

Honda reflex's came with air over spring caps , but you need a very accurate gauge , as they only hold 1 or 2 lbs of pressure ... Air forks were a big fad in the 80's , they generally take a better seal too ...

Which competitive trials bikes had air sprung forks ? Air rear shocks were quite common for a while.

I have some if you would like to try them, im back next week, i was told by Bultaco UK they are for venting excess

Hi joe how are the new springs? Ive just fited magical springs and caps to mine and moden seals off smelling look the part havant realy tryed them yet as ive stript the bike again to have the frame painted and a few other jobs
